Interview with Linda Pesavento part 1

The beatitude 'blessed are the pure in heart' bought Linda straight to my mind. Linda is an
executive pastor at a local church and works tirelessly with the homeless as well as
refugees to raise money and help in any way she can. In her life, Linda has also
undergone personal challenges when she almost lost her young son and husband
to cancer. During this time the pureness of her heart allowed her to explore
her faith and allowed her to understand grief and the importance of turning to god
in the time of our sorrow. She then wrote a book called 'Keep Walking' in hope that she might
be able to help other people through the situations that she found herself in. She wrote
of God's love that pulled her through and she is continually helping people turn to god
and see him for who he is. Linda continues to help others in many ways and she truly
has a pure heart. When i questioned Linda about the beatitudes she simply stated that
she believes she lives by all of the Beatitudes and understands the meaning of them all.

The interview is below-

Meg: Tell me a bit about yourself and your Christian life.

Linda: I have been a Christian since I was a young girl. My mum became a Christian when I was 5 which is when we started to attend church. I made a decision for myself at age 6. I have certainly had times in my life when I have wrestled with questions about God but I cannot deny the reality of his presence in my life and the truth about him contained in the Bible.

Meg: What impact does God have on all of this?

Linda: God is the focus of my life. I believe that I was created to have relationship with him and I live my life according to his plans & purposes for me.

Meg: What do you believe is the most important part of Christianity?

Linda: Christianity is not a religion but a relationship - a relationship with God that is made possible through Christ. Jesus Christ extended love and grace to us and our response to that is to extend love and grace to each other.

Meg: What is you’re current role in the church?

Linda: My role is  'Executive Pastor - Ministry'. I oversee a team of people that work with children, youth, young adults, men & women. I also oversee our weekend services & events
